Kira Wight, Counseling Intern
I believe that heartache, uncertainty, and emotional pain are natural parts of being human, and that even during life’s most difficult seasons, people have a remarkable capacity for resilience, healing, and growth. My goal is to provide a warm, compassionate space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood.
My counseling approach is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and an awareness of how difficult or traumatic experiences can affect both the mind and body. Together, we may explore how your experiences have shaped the ways you respond to stress while building greater awareness, self-compassion, and flexibility. One of my strengths is helping people find language for experiences that feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to express.
I believe counseling can help you get closer to what matters most to you and start building a life around it. I try to bring real warmth to this work, so you feel reassured that your struggles are valid.
I’m currently completing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Grand Canyon University’s CACREP-accredited program, expected in January 2027, to build on the psychology bachelor’s degree I earned from BYU-Idaho in 2008.
