Doctor
Yasin Choudry, M.D.
I work with people who hold their lives together on the outside while struggling with anxiety, depression, or both on the inside. These challenges exist alongside a reliance on alcohol, substances, food, work, or another habit. This usually is not an addiction problem so much as a habit that’s become the only thing that gives you relief.
Most people who come to see me have tried the standard approaches: medication, therapy, self-help, or some combination of the three.
Rather than trying to suppress or get rid of symptoms, I focus on understanding what those symptoms are trying to tell us. Drawing on Internal Family Systems (IFS), I help you look beneath the anxiety, the shutdown, and the exhausting feeling of having to perform through life, to reconnect you with a steadier sense of Self.
I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) when appropriate. I sit with patients through the preparation and the dosing sessions, then spend time helping them make sense of what came up. Ketamine doesn’t replace the work of therapy, but it can deepen the work you’re already doing.
If you function well on the outside but feel disconnected or out of alignment, and you want to understand the root of what is happening rather than collect another diagnosis or superficial coping strategy, we may be a good fit.
